Spelling List Test 

Dear First Grade Parents,

The following is a suggested Summer Reading List for incoming second graders for the 2024-2025 school year.  Your child may read other books as well.

In addition to reading, I highly recommend completing as many as the IXL assignments as possible in the My Skills Plan section.  To get there- login- click on Personal Growth Study Plan on the right, and complete as many Math  skills as possible.  Then on the top left switch to Reading, then Language skills and complete as many as possible as well.

Please label all individual items with your child's name!!!

• 1 box of #2 pencils (SHARPENED)
• 2 erasers
• 8 glue sticks (the big ones) Please have each one labeled
• 1 highlighter Please label
• 1 box of 24 crayons 
• 1 box of 10 markers please label each marker
• 1 art boxes (Please write their name on it) 
• 3 marble composition notebooks (wide ruled) -  (Labeled: Writing/Reading, Social Studies/Science, Math)
• 3 folders - any color Labeled  Classwork, Social Studies and Science (inside label one side Science and one side Social Studies), and Writing
• 1 art smock
• 2 Expo Markers Please label each
• 2 sharpies 1- fine tip 1 regular tip Please label
• 1 pencil sharpener Please label
• White board eraser or clean sock Please label eraser
• pack of eraser tops for pencils
• pack of colored pencils
• Elmer's liquid glue Please label
• Plastic container to be kept at home with all extra supplies in it.  I will send notes home during the year when more supplies are needed.

In addition:

• Boys- box of sandwich size zip lock bags, Girls-box of gallon size zip lock bags
• 1 boxes of tissues
• 1 rolls of paper towels
• 1 bottle of hand soap
